We’re back with Gen Valentine’s for 2022! This is intended as a single day event happening on February 14th, but we’ll also accept any slightly early or slightly late entries too.
This year’s theme for the event is: Friendship
The event is open to any type of fanwork, of any length, for any DCTV shows - so long as it’s gen-focused and incorporates the theme of friendship.
If you have any questions about the event, please do comment here, or send us an ask on tumblr, or you can email DCTVGen at gmail dot com. Reblogs on tumblr or sharing info about the event to spread the word would be very appreciated. 💚

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the event.
Now, it’s time for the masterlist. 🌈🎊
Fanfic
don’t threaten me with a good time by coldflasher - on Ao3 or tumblr - The Flash, Cisco Ramon, Barry Allen, Caitlin Snow, Kamilla Hwang, Killer Frost, Iris West-Allen, Leonard Snart (includes background ships)
Inspired by the Santiago Drunkenness Scale from Brooklyn-99. Team Flash are throwing a party to celebrate Kamilla and Cisco’s departure from Central City, and Kamilla wants to make sure they go out with a bang. But with great power comes great responsibility, and sometimes responsibility means making sure your friend doesn’t break the sound barrier by doing the worm at Mach 2.
Pride by Redrikki - on Ao3 or tumblr - Batwoman, Ryan Wilder, Mary Hamilton
A small army of Batwomen marched at Pride. Ryan should be marching with them.
Moodboards
Aro-spec Oliver Queen by purpleyin - on tumblr or Ao3
Bi Felicity Smoak by purpleyin - on tumblr or Ao3
Demiromantic Harry Wells by purpleyin - on tumblr or Ao3

While our Pride Month event is still running, we have also started planning our next event too! Ladies of DCTV is coming back – this time with a 💚Month of Love💚 which is a little different from the events we’ve done before.
The Month of Love will be running August 1st to 31st 2021, with sign-ups starting now to give people plenty of time to create for it. The aim is to have at least 1 new post/fanwork each day focused on the ladies of DCTV so that we have a wonderful month full of appreciating them all.
Anyone who wants to take part can claim a day in August when they commit to posting something centered on any of the ladies of DCTV. Any kind of fanwork is welcomed, including meta, recs lists, or picspam. It doesn’t have to be long - it could be a 100-word drabble, a few icons, or a character appreciation post - basically, anything gen-focused to show your love for the character(s) you pick.
The sign-up form is here.
Each date currently has 2 claim slots available to allow 2 people to create for the day, but if possible please try to claim a date that hasn’t had its Claim slot 1 taken because we’d really like to get something sorted out for every day of the month if we can. If both sets of Claim slots fill up for all the dates we’ll add more slots later on.
We also ask that you say what you are likely to create, and for which characters, when you put your details into a Claim slot. This is so that people can see the mix of what’s already promised - in case they want to create for characters not yet being shown any love - but you can still change your mind later on about what you want to make.
More details behind the cut. Please spread the word. 💗 Also, thank you to the fab @ginger-canary for creating the event banner.

🌈 DCTVGen Pride Month is happening soon! 🌈
Start of event: June 1st 2021End of event: June 30th 2021
This event is for gen content of DCTV characters of any orientation or identity that fits under the umbrella of LGBTQ+. They can be in canon or it can be headcanons! Anything is welcome.
We’re also happy to have people rec or submit links to suitable fanworks that already exist - they don’t have to be newly created for the event so long as they’re not ones we’ve featured before in past years.
For more details about our definition of gen and what fandoms are included, please check out our FAQ.
For prompts you can use, see our list from last year’s event here or from 2019 here.
Posting guidelines:
1. Be mindful of potentially triggery content and add appropriate warnings2. Keep any NSFW content (e.g. violence or dark themes) behind a cut
3. Mention in notes if there is a background non-gen relationship
To submit a post here you'll need to join this community. Posts submitted will go into the moderation queue and a mod will look it over, usually within a day, and approve the post.
If you post to AO3, we’d love for you to add your fanwork to our collection ‘DCTVGen_PrideMonth’ which you can find here.
We also have a tumblr blog in case anyone prefers to participate on there.
If you're excited for the event, please spread the word.

You can reply to our email that was listed at the end of your assignment email, or comment here. All comments here are screened/not public, and you can post as anon without a Dreamwidth account, just remember to tell us who you are if so.
If you haven’t started yet, that’s fine - we just want a check-in to know you’re happy with the assignment. If there are any problems do let us know as soon as possible.

Treats are basically just optional additional gifts - anyone who feels like it can make an extra Valentine's treat for a request that inspires them. If you want to make one, there's no sign-up and no one else knows about it unless you say anything (or complete a fanwork for it), so if you don't manage to finish it in time there's no harm done.
Prompts for the exchange can be viewed here on AO3 or in this google sheet for ease of reading. There are no minimum requirements on word count etc for any treats, but the treat needs to be:
- gen-focused & only including background relationships if the requester mentions they are fine with them (we can contact requesters for clarification if needed).
- one of the fanwork types specified in the request.
- one of the ratings specified in the request.
- avoiding the requester's DNW's/Do Not Want's.
If you create a treat, you can post it to the collection and will also need to gift the work to the requester’s AO3 username. Any treats submitted before February 14th 2021 will remain unrevealed until the rest of the gifts go live then. Any questions about making treats, do let us know.
If you’re a writer or an artist who creates for The Flash, Arrow or Smallville and you might be interested, please contact us and we can give you more info.
The exchange is being run using AO3′s gift exchange system, so you’ll need an AO3 account to participate. Anyone who needs an AO3 invite, let us know via email (to, dctvgen at gmail dot com) and we’ll get you one.
The event is open to fanfic, fanart (digital or handdrawn), fanvids, gifsets, and fanmixes. For more details on word minimums etc required for gifts, see the link above that will take you to the exchange’s profile on AO3.
The tagset we’re using for fandoms and fanworks types is here - if anyone has any suggestions for other DCTV fandoms that already exist on AO3 to add to it, just say. There’s quite a few smaller/older DCTV fandoms eligible for this exchange, so we’d be very grateful for any reblogs/sharing to spread the word about the exchange to get a good mix of fandoms represented with the sign-ups.
Sign-up is running for 2 weeks - closing at the end of December 4th 2020 - with assignment emails to go out a few days after that. Fanworks will be due by February 7th 2021, to go live on February 14th 2021 - that gives you just over 2 months after assignments are sent out to create for the event.
All requests/prompts for the exchange will be public, so that there’s the option for people to make extra gifts (without the minimum requirements) as ‘treats’ for a lower pressure way to take part in the event. We’re also happy to hear from anyone who might like to be contacted about any pinch hits required in case there are any drop-out’s.
You can find further information about the exchange on the linked profile above, and also on the sign-up form that explains what’s needed for requests (what you’d like created for you) and offers (what you’re happy to create for someone else).
To sign-up, go here.
This is our first time running an exchange, and using the AO3 exchange system too, so we hope we’ve explained everything well enough, but if not, we want to know. If you have any questions at all about how the exchange will work, do ask either here or email us.
We hope you had fun and we expect to do another Ladies of DCTV event again in the future - possibly a bingocard or promptathon as those were other popular options on the poll we did a while back.
Anyhow, without further ado, the handy masterlist of everything made for the event. 🎊 📝

Sunday 20th September – free day – any theme you like so long as it focuses on the women of the shows.
Wednesday 16th September – Hobbies – Just what do your favorite ladies get up to (usually off-screen) in their free time?
Tuesday 15th September – Identity – How do they see themselves? How do others see them? Perhaps they have more than one, or a secret identity, to juggle. A special mention that this day is also World Afro Day, for the celebration of the natural hairstyles of black and multiracial people.
Monday 14th September – Superpowers – Whether they be canonical superpowers, bestowed by an AU, or just the metaphorical kind, we want to see ladies being super in some way.
How to post: You can submit a post to this community (it will go to the moderation queue first) or comment on this post with any links/recs. On tumblr, you can @dctvgen on a post you want us to reblog, message us links to @dctvgenevents, or use the ‘submit a post’ feature on our tumblr. You can also add a fanwork to the Ao3 collection (ladies_of_dctv).
If you have any questions, do let us know. We look forward to what you’re creating or reccing for the event.

We're excited to announce our next event – Ladies of DCTV!
The event runs for a week – from September 14th to September 20th – with a different optional theme each day. There's no sign-up for it. You can @dctvgen for us to reblog on tumblr, submit a post here (you need to join the community and posts go to a moderation queue) or post to the Ao3 collection.
Themes below:
- Monday 14th September – Superpowers – Whether they be canonical superpowers, bestowed by an AU, or just the metaphorical kind, we want to see ladies being super in some way.
- Tuesday 15th September – Identity – How do they see themselves? How do others see them? Perhaps they have more than one, or a secret identity, to juggle. A special mention that this day is also World Afro Day, for the celebration of the natural hairstyles of black and multiracial people.
- Wednesday 16th September – Hobbies – Just what do your favorite ladies get up to (usually off-screen) in their free time?
- Thursday 17th September – Friendship – Canon is sometimes short on female friendship, but we’d love to see them. This coincides with 'Locate an old friend day' for anyone who wants to resurrect a character’s old friendships (or retcon one into existence) where canon neglected any.
- Friday 18th September – Careers – What did they want to be when they grew up? How did their dreams change (or not)? Anything career-related works here, and it’s also on International Equal Pay Day.
- Saturday 19th September – Villains – Bring us villainesses in all their power and glory. Or you’re equally welcome to reimagine a heroine gone dark side. They may be flawed, and morally grey at best, but there’s a lot of scope for interesting tales. If you’re looking for extra inspiration, this is on International Talk Like A Pirate Day too.
- Sunday 20th September – free day – any theme you like so long as it focuses on the women of the shows.
A big thank you to the awesome ginger-canary for creating the above event banner. With so many great characters across the shows, we obviously couldn’t get them all on there but we look forward to seeing a variety of fanworks created for the many ladies of DCTV.
Our usual posting guidelines apply, which you can read on our FAQ. For any questions that aren’t answered there, don’t hesitate to comment here, send us an ask on tumblr, or email us at the address listed at the bottom of our FAQ. We’re also over on the DC Event Server discord - you can join that here.
We'd love for you spread the word and we can’t wait to see what you all create or rec to us!
