DCTVGen Valentine’s Day 5 is here! Today we celebrate other fanworks.

Art, fic and vids may be the staples of fandom but there are plenty of other types of fanworks out there that are rarer but equally cherished.

Meta can raise important questions and let us know there’s other people out there thinking about these things too. Headcanons are out there enhancing enjoyment of canon, or just going in a completely different direction, because (it’s fun). Fanmixes can provide atmosphere and inspiration for yet more fanworks. Fancrafts may make us squee in delight and both those and fan created merchandise lets us show off our fannish love to the world.

Whatever the type of fanwork, if it doesn’t fit under one of the last 4 days, today is the day to show it off.

• Send us recs of your favourite other types of fanwork (you can @ dctvgen us on the post, submit links/posts, send an ask or message @ dctvgenevents).
• Do you have a favourite creator for other types of fanworks? We’d love it if you’d send us a creator rec post.
• Or you can send us an anon ask for your favourite fanworks and/or creators if you’re a little shy of doing so publicly.
• Kudos, likes, bookmarking and reblogs are great too if you’re not feeling wordy.
• And if you are feeling wordy and up to the challenge, have a search for a fanwork with only a few comments/notes and leave a nice comment or reblog with comments in the tags for it to make someone’s day 💗
• ...Another way to contribute to fandom if you feel like it is get involved with the Fanlore.org wiki and help document fandom history, either old events or by adding info about fandom in its current state.
